What Data and Why
1. Identity & Name Matching
-
Middle Name & Other Names (Maiden Name): Many Nigerians have common surnames (e.g., Musa, Okoro, Ibrahim). Middle names are the primary way to distinguish between two people with the same first and last names. Maiden names are crucial because many women bought shares before marriage and never updated their records after their name change.

-
Upload Passport Photo & Identity Document: This is for KYC (Know Your Customer) compliance. Registrars must physically verify that the person claiming the dividends is the same person on the government ID.

2. Location History (The Paper Trail)
-
Current & Previous Addresses: Dividends usually go unclaimed because "Dividend Warrants" (physical checks) were mailed to an old address and returned. Registrars use your Previous Address to match the old records they have in their physical ledgers from 10 or 20 years ago.
3. The "Golden Keys" to your Portfolio
-
CHN (Clearing House Number): This is your unique ID in the Nigerian Capital Market. It links all your stockbroking accounts together. If we have this, we can see your entire portfolio across different stockbrokers at once. *
-
BVN (Bank Verification Number): This is required to verify your identity across the entire Nigerian financial system. It ensures that the person owning the shares is the same person owning the bank account.
4. Payment & Automation
-
Select Bank & Account Number: This is for the e-Dividend Mandate. Once the Registrar approves the recovery, the funds are wired directly to this account via NIBSS.
-
Upload Signature: Registrars keep a "Specimen Signature" on file from when the shares were originally bought. They will manually compare your uploaded signature to the one in their 15-year-old ledger. If they don't match, the claim is rejected.

Governing Law
This Authorization shall be governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
